Art may be created in solitude, but it is never shaped alone. With deep gratitude to those who have supported, encouraged and believed in my work.
To my husband, Jason, my greatest supporter and most honest critic. Thank you for listening to me speak endlessly about art despite knowing nothing about it. Your questions, often unexpected and always direct, have pushed me to think more deeply, shaping both my work and who I am becoming. And, in the moments when I struggled to see fully what was taking shape, you reminded me of the simplest and most powerful truth…YOU did this. Those words have stayed with me reminding me to own and enjoy this moment.
To my mentor, Alannah Anderson. Thank you for asking more of me. For seeing what I could not yet see in myself and for gently, but persistently, guiding me toward it. Your support has given me both courage and calm in moments of doubt. You are not only an extraordinary artist but a deeply generous and kind human. What began in mentorship has grown into a friendship I deeply cherish. I feel incredibly fortunate that our paths found each other.
To my family and friends. Thank you for your presence, your patience and your understanding through all the moments I had to say no in order to say yes to this work. Thank you for believing in what I could not always see, for holding space and reminding me where I came from.
To Kim Gillespie Photography, Thank you for capturing this chapter with such artistry and grace. Your images hold not only the work itself but the feeling and the spirit of this moment.
To my parents…Your strength carries me still.
I am deeply grateful for you all.
